Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- Talks aimed at reviving the Iran nuclear deal in Vienna, Austria, began on April 6th with the participation of diplomats from the European Union (EU) and the parties.
Enrique Mora, Deputy Secretary-General and Political Director of the EU Foreign Relations Service, chairs the meetings on behalf of the EU High Representative for Foreign Relations and Security Policy.
The meetings will focus on the course of the nuclear agreement, called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (KOEP) and the return of the United States, which unilaterally left the agreement in May 2018.
Senior officials from Germany, Britain, France, China, Russia, and Iran attended the meetings.
"Our clear goal is to return to the full and effective implementation of the agreement by all parties," Mora, deputy secretary-general and political director of the EU Foreign Relations Service said on his social media account ahead of the meeting.
The meetings will also focus on issues such as the full implementation of the 2015 agreement and the lifting of sanctions.
