Serhat TUNAR -TDO- Dr. Hans Kluge, Regional Director of the World Health Organization for Europe, said that a paradoxical situation has occurred in the world due to the emergence of vaccines developed against the Coronavirus outbreak.
Dr. Kluge said vaccines developed to combat coronavirus offer hope for the end of the pandemic.
In a press briefing, Dr. Kluge said the emergence of new and more contagious types of the virus had created problems, and that the increase in the number of cases had made the need to vaccinate priority groups urgent.
Dr. Kluge continued his remarks as follows: "The paradox is that society feels that the epidemic will soon end thanks to vaccines, while at the same time calling for restrictive measures to be followed in the face of new threats leads to tension, anxiety, fatigue and confusion in people. This is certainly understandable in the current environment."
