Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- The World Health Organization (WHO) has criticized the slow rollout of vaccination campaigns against the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic in European countries.
"It is unacceptable that there are gaps between countries at the rate of vaccination," WHO President Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said in a statement, noting that the number of cases has been on the rise for six weeks.
Last week alone, the WHO stressed that the number of people infected in the European region exceeded one and a half million.
Who's President of the Eurozone, Dr. Hans Kluge, stressed that vaccines are the "best way" to get rid of the pandemic. However, the launch of these vaccines is unacceptably slow," he said.
A total of 152 million doses of vaccines have been administered in the region to date in the vaccination campaign, which first started in Russia on December 5, 2020.
