VACCINATION AGAINST CORONAVIRUS IN IRAN TO BEGIN TUESDAY

Serhat TUNAR -TDO- Iran's Health Minister Said Nemeki announced that the first shipment of the Sputnik v vaccine developed by Russia against the coronavirus has reached Iran, and vaccinations will begin on Tuesday.

After Iran last week approved the Sputnik v vaccine developed by Russia against the coronavirus, the first shipment of 500 thousand doses of the vaccine arrived in the capital Tehran on February 4.

“The vaccine will first be applied to health workers who are at the forefront of the health sector, and then to the elderly who remain in nursing homes and over 65 years of age," Nemeki, Iran's Health Minister, said in a statement on the issue, “Step by step, but we are moving forward with confidence. By evaluating the current vaccines in the world, we selected and imported the Russian Sputnik V vaccine, one of the least defective and least dangerous vaccines."
