Adel Tayari -TDO- The successive visits of US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to the Gulf region , Where he made five visits between three countries - Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Qatar in three days,
the optimism about the possibility of launching a new and long phase of indirect negotiations, through the Kuwaiti mediator, to pave the way for a settlement between the countries of the blockade and Qatar.

While observers expect the duration of the pre-emptive roadmap talks to be held by Kuwait with US support, the region continues to receive foreign officials seeking to ease Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt its campaign against Qatar at least as these countries seem so intransigent and reluctant to respond to international endeavors through its insistence on not waiving the demands made by the embargo countries, and rejected by Doha in full.

In this context, French Foreign Minister Jean-Louis Laudrian, who will spend 48 hours between Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, and the mediating state, will arrive in Kuwait on Saturday 15 July   to support US efforts to resolve the crisis.

With the support of the United States, Kuwait will prepare the road map agreed upon during the Tillerson rounds and meetings, which concluded on Thursday 13 July in a second meeting with the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and with the Qatari Foreign Minister in Doha.

On Thursday 13 july, State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said the goal of the road map was to try to convince the parties to the Gulf crisis to engage in direct dialogue, adding that Tillerson's visit "made limited progress" in efforts to resolve the crisis.

The US Secretary of State arrived on Monday 10 July to Kuwait, he then visited Qatar and returned from Doha to Kuwait again, he then visited Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday, July 11, then returned to Kuwait and traveled to Doha on Wednesday, July 12.

The head of US diplomacy  met with the Emir of Kuwait on more than one occasion and met with Kuwaiti ministers  and held two meetings with the Emir of Qatar, as well as with the Qatari Foreign Minister, and meetings with Saudi King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and ministers from the countries of the blockade, Saudi Arabia and Egypt   and Bahrain and the UAE, represented by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Anwar Gargash, and not Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed  which was seen by observers as an emirates position opposed to US mediation.

The Associated Press confirmed that there were "minor signs of progress" after Tillerson's visit stressing that the US Secretary of State said that the agreement signed between Washington and Doha to combat terrorism financing was proof of Qatar's positive response. The positions expressed by Tillerson in Doha reflected some kind of US diplomatic support for Qatar, according to the Associated Press.

On the other hand, UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed said on Thursday that resolving the Gulf crisis would be achieved only if Qatar accepted all the demands of the embargo countries.
