08/12/2020

Serhat TUNAR -TDO- Mohammed Hamad Al-Kuwaiti, head of the United Arab Emirates Cyber Security Unit, said his country had suffered cyber-attacks following a normalization agreement with Israel. Kuwaiti said cyber-attacks mainly targeted the financial sector, but did not share details.

The head of the United Arab Emirates Cyber Security Unit did not comment on whether the attacks were successful or whether the perpetrators had been identified.

The United Arab Emirates administration, along with Bahrain, another Gulf country, signed a resolution formalizing its relations with Israel at a White House ceremony in September, despite the reaction of many Muslim countries, as well as Palestine.
