UKRAINIAN PRESIDENT FIRES HEAD OF THE ARMED FORCES, CITING DISPUTES

Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy says he has dismissed Chief of Staff Ruslan Homchak over his disputes with the Defense Ministry.

Zelenskiy's Press Secretary Sergey Nikoforov said in a statement that Homchak will be replaced by Valeriy Zalujniy, who is in charge of the Ukrainian army's 'Northern Union'.

"Zelenskiy wants to see a synergy between the Ministry of Defence and the General Staff, but unfortunately we see discussions rather than seeing this synergy," Nikoforov said in a statement.
