Serhat TUNAR -TDO-Twitter, the world's largest social networking site, has announced that 6 thousand accounts it claims are acting in coordination on behalf of Saudi Arabia's geopolitical interests have been deleted.
The company said the total number of accounts of Saudi origin that have been deleted or deemed in danger so far is 88 thousand. Twitter also said in a statement that the deleted accounts belonged to individuals with Saudi government agencies.
The contents of the accounts accused of taking part in Propaganda activities were said to have spread false information and advertising. The company said the decision was made after a thorough investigation.
The deleted accounts are accused of spreading propaganda about Saudi Arabia's regional interests, including imposing sanctions on Iran.
