Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- The Nigerian government has announced that "responsible action" must be taken to stop the suspension of Twitter's activities in the country, a social media platform.
Foreign Minister Geoffrey Onyeama said twitter's operations in Nigeria would only be allowed as long as "responsible action is taken."
"The reason we have taken this measure is to prevent them from being used as platforms for destabilization and promoting criminals," Onyeama said in a statement.
Onyeama said the Twitter ban is the key to ensuring security in the country, adding, "Without security, everything else fails. We're all going to be losers. What we do today will determine the future of the country."
