Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- The fires that started in Manavgat district of Antalya on July 28 and then broke out in at least 30 different provinces in Turkey have been going on for days.
The death toll from the fires has risen to 8.
In the fires, thousands of animals perished, forest and farmland and greenhouse areas in the region were reduced to ashes.
Villages and other settlements threatened by fires in the country have been evacuated.
Agriculture and Forestry Minister Bekir Pakdemirli announced that 107 of the 112 fires that broke out between July 28 and 31 were under control and five were continuing.
It was stated that the efforts to extinguish the forest fire in Gokpinar, Upper and Lower Mazi neighborhoods, and Armutçuk district in Bodrum district of Mugla were continuing.
The dead bodies of a couple was found in a house damaged in a fire in The Manavgat district of Antalya.
