İlknur Şebnem Öztemel-TDO-31.05.2017 It has been alleged that Turkey backs the formation of a new opposition army to secure unity and ensure safety in the lands gained by the Euphrates Shield Operation, called The National Army.
It is alleged that the army aims to bring the factions of the Free Syrian Army together, to ensure unity in the future, secure northern Syria whether from regime forces or the YPG and prevent any attempt to change the demographic structure of the region.
Firas Pasha, the commander of the Muntasir Billah brigade, said ‘’God willing, the new army's role should be able to defend the entire country. There won't be any small or different groups. We will all be a part of one army".
If it is true, it may be a very good thing in the dawn of American decision to continue their partnership with Kurdish militants in the upcoming offensive of Russia.
