Tensions have begun in the country following Donald Trump's rally called "Save America" in Washington DC.
Following the rally, a group of protesters, including far-right Trump supporters, gathered in front of the Capitol, where a registration session was held to make the election results official.
Following the police's intervention in the rebels, some Trump supporters broke through barricades and stormed the Congress building.
Entrances and exits were blocked in the Capitol, while security forces are requesting reinforcements.
Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser announced a curfew in the area. The restriction will be enforced from 18.00 pm Wednesday until 06:00 am Thursday.
The National Guard has been assigned.
Following the growth of protests, Trump called for restraint and shared a video, urging protesters to "go home."
Joe Biden called the events "assault."
As the protesters entered the room of House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi, some looting has seen.
US Vice President Mike Pence has been ushered from the Congress building for a security breach.
A curfew has also been imposed in the state of Virginia, which is a neighbor to Washington DC.
Virginia state governor Ralph Northam announced that as of 06.00 pm, a curfew would be imposed in the cities of Arlington and Alexandria, which border Washington.
Following the growth of protests, Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser announced that the state of emergency decision had been extended by 15 days.
Washington Police Chief Robert Contee issued a statement regarding the events at the Congress building.
Contee said in his statement that 3 more people were killed within Congress after 1 female demonstrator was shot by police and previously died in a hospital.
Contee announced that 14 police were slightly injured during the demonstrations and at least 52 others were detained.
