News Center -TDO- Serbian Ambassador to Turkey Zoran Markovic and his wife Tanja Markovic hosted a reception at the Serbian Embassy to promote tourism in Belgrade and Serbia.
In addition to Ambassador Zoran Markovic, Serbian Tourism Organization Director Marija Labovic, Belgrade Tourism Organization Director Miograd Popovic, Anadolu Jet President Sait Şamil Karakaş, ambassadors and distinguished guests attended the reception.
In his opening speech of the event, Ambassador Markovic stated that the bilateral relations between Serbia and Turkey are at the highest level and said that it is important for Turkish tourists to introduce Serbia and Belgrade with very popular and interesting tourist destinations.
Ambassador Markovic announced that the two presidents have discussed the issue of removing passports and entering Serbia and Turkey with ID only; He said he hopes more tourists will come to both Belgrade and Ankara as a result of the agreement to establish a direct flight between Belgrade and Ankara, which will start around Christmas, December 24, 2021.
Serbian Tourism Organization Director Marija Labovic, in her speech, told about Serbia's natural beauties, different regions and cities that offer all kinds of activities, cultural and historical heritage, and of course Serbian cuisine is similar to Turkish cuisine, but different at the same time.
Emphasizing the importance of the Turkish market for Serbian tourism, Labovic especially mentioned all the advantages Serbia offers as a tourism center.
In his speech, Miograd Popovic, Director of Belgrade Tourism Organization, said that tourists from Istanbul are often in Belgrade and that Belgrade is a city that never sleeps, and that it is a very popular place for tourists.
Popovic said "Istanbul - Belgrade direct line has increased touristic travel to the next level and now we expect the same on the Ankara - Belgrade flight."
The event ended with a concert consisting of famous and very old Serbian songs by two famous Serbian violinists, Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra Concert Master Tijana Milosevic and Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra Deputy Concert Master Ksenija Milosevic.
