Others are in favor of adhering to the patriarch's authority in Istanbul.
On July 27, more than 55,000 Orthodox, claiming that the Ukrainian church is affiliated with Russia, marched through the streets of the capital Kyiv to Kyiv caves lavra, an 11th-century monastery.
Opposition Patriarch Bartholomeos, who is based in Moscow, will also travel to Ukraine in August to support the march.
The parade of religious people in Kyiv went smoothly.
