Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- Thousands of residents are leaving their homes after a possible volcanic eruption alert level was raised at Mount Taal, south of the Philippine capital Manila.
Toxic gas emissions from the mountain have reached a record high, the Philippine Institute of Volcano and Earthquake Sciences said.
The statement warned that a new explosion, similar to the one on July 1, could happen "at any moment."
Another 4,500 residents left their homes on Sunday after the latest warning.
The number of people evacuated from possible villages that could be in danger of volcanic eruptions is projected to reach 14,000.
