26/02/2021

Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- The European Union (EU) State Leaders Summit is being held virtually again due to the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

The summit, scheduled to last 2 days, discusses the latest situation in the Covid-19 pandemic, the implementation of possible vaccination passports, security and defense issues, and southern neighborly policies.

Countries that are an important income item of tourism, especially Cyprus, Spain, Malta, Portugal, Italy, and Estonia, support Greece's proposed implementation of a 'vaccine passport'.

Countries unwilling to experience the third wave with the emergence of new variations of Covid-19 in The UK and South Africa remain steadfast in maintaining drastic measures until April.
