Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- After reports emerged of the Afghan militant group claiming it wanted US President Donald Trump reelected, the Taliban rejected claims that it supported Donald Trump.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid expressed support for Trump's attempt to stay in the White House after his tested positive for coronavirus and expressed concern about his health.
"We hope that he will win the election and end the US military presence in Afghanistan," US news agency CBS News reported in a telephone interview with Zabihullah Mujahid.
Therewith, Mujahid mentioned that CBS News misintermed and deflected the words of the statement, "The U.S. news organization CBS News misintermed and published my remarks. Nothing of the kind they announced was discussed," he said.
With these remarks of the Mujahid, Taliban also rejected the claims of endorsing.
