Serhat TUNAR -TDO- Switzerland and the UK began preparations for the period after Brexit. Swiss Economy Minister Guy Pamelin and the UK's International Trade Minister Liam Fox signed a free trade agreement in Bern, which will come into force after Britain's departure from the European Union.
The agreement aims to preserve economic and commercial responsibilities between the EU and Switzerland.
The agreement will enter into force on 30 March 2019, in the event that Britain leaves the EU without an agreement. Switzerland had previously signed agreements on road transport, air transport and insurance.
Speaking on the issue, Liam Fox said he was pleased with the agreement and announced that Britain would sign similar agreements with nearly 40 countries until his country will leave the EU.
