Serhat TUNAR -TDO- The United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia have backed statements by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi that his country could come into direct conflict if forces affiliated with the Tripoli-based National Reconciliation Government attack the city of Sirte.
Saudi Arabia has expressed support for Egypt over its right to protect its borders and its people. The statement continued to highlight the need for a comprehensive solution for the security of Libyan territory.
The United Arab Emirates Foreign Ministry said the latest developments in Libya were alarming. The United Arab Emirates stands by Egypt for its actions to ensure its stability and security, the statement said.
