Robert Harneis –TDO- (FRANCE) The British general election has been disrupted by a suicide bomb attack at a pop concert in Manchester. The attack took place as the concert was ending and at least 22 people, including children, have been killed and 60 injured.
Prime Minister Theresa May said, “We are working to establish the full details of what is being treated by the police as an appalling terrorist attack. All our thoughts are with the victims and the families of those who have been affected.” She will chair an emergency meeting of the government’s crisis committee, COBRA, at9am this morning. All election campaigning has been suspended following the attack. International leaders have expressed their condolences and support for the UK.
Singer and actress Ariana Grandewas the star of the concert at the Manchester Arena with an audience of 21,000.
