Serhat TUNAR -TDO- In Germany, the coalition partner, the Social Democratic Party (SPD), want the ban on the sale of weapons brought to Saudi Arabia following the murder of journalist CemalKaşıkçı to continue.
Rolf Muetzenich, deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group, said his party would fight for a ban on the sale of arms for Saudi Arabia in November.
Muetzenich, who wrote an article to the SPD newspaper Vorwaerts, said, “The conditions that led to the suspension of arms sales to Saudi Arabia remained unchanged. For this reason, we will do everything we can to continue the ban against Saudi Arabia.”
The ruling partners, the SPD and the conservative party, had temporarily suspended arms sales to Saudi Arabia until November 9th.
Angela Merkel, on the other hand, left unanswered the question of whether to extend this period last week.
