News Centre–TDO- South Korea's Ambassador to Turkey Choi Hong-Ghi and his spouse have hosted a reception at the Ankara HiltonSa Hotel to mark South Korea's National Day and Armed Forces Day.
The reception was attended by Minister for Trade Ruhsar Pekca as well as many other representatives of diplomatic missions.
Speaking at the reception, Ambassador Choi Hong-Ghi said that Turkey had sent 21,000 troops in support of the Republic of Korea during the Korean War and added "We have never forgotten the noble sacrifices made by Turkish soldiers fighting for peace and freedom in Korea."
Ambassador Choi said that a Strategic Partnership had been established between the two countries in 2013 and stated "Since then, Korea and Turkey have developed their cooperation in many fields."
Ambassador Choi said President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had visited Korea in May and added the visit had deepened the cooperation and friendship between the two countries
