Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- There was a gunfight after an explosion targeted the Afrik Hotel in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia.
After the suicide attack with a car bomb, it was stated that there was intense fighting between the gunmen who managed to enter the hotel and the security forces.
As for how many attackers there are, no explanation has yet been made.
Police said there were casualties in the conflict.
Police Spokesman Sadiq Adan Ali said several people were rescued from the Afrik Hotel.
"There must be casualties because the militants 1st started the attack with a suicide car bomb against the wall," Ali said.
Militant Islamist group al-Shabaab, which is linked to al-Qaeda, claimed responsibility for the attack through their Andalus radio station.
