Serhat TUNAR -TDO- Zuzana Caputova, who won the presidential elections in Slovakia in March, swore to formally take over from former President Andrej Kiska. Caputova, who took office as the 5th President of the country, was also Slovakia's first female President.
Caputova, in his speech at the oath ceremony, Slovakia has achieved significant success after the separation from Czech Republic, and his country's membership to the European Union, the participation of the Schengen region, such as the serious decline in unemployment rates can be considered among these achievements.
Caputova, "by swearing constitutional, I undertake all the commitments and obligations of public service. I did not come to rule, citizens, residents, I came to serve Slovakia. Slovak nation living in Slovakia, national minorities and ethnic groups will serve the welfare," he said.
Caputova, Slovakia's presidential election last March, 58 percent of the vote in the second round won by taking.
