In Germany, where about 320 thousand disposable cups are thrown away every hour, the relevant law will come into force from July 3, 2021.
Aims to reduce the use of plastic materials that are known to cause environmental pollution in accordance with the regulation adopted by the Council of Ministers of the European Union, which Germany, together with ear, disposable plastic stirrer, straws, beverage mixer, the use of a balloon holder and plastic boxes will be prohibited.
German Environment Minister Svenja Schulze said: "single-use plastics are unnecessary and not suitable for the sustainability of resources. Plastic products often blend into the seas and nature. If litter is mixed into nature in this way globally, by 2050 there will be more plastic in the seas than fish."
