Serhat TUNAR -TDO- Russia will deliver its warships seized in the Kerch Strait to Ukraine on Monday (today).
Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) said in a statement on the matter that 3 Ukrainian warships seized by Russia in the Kerch Strait have left the Kerch Strait for delivery. According to the agreement reached with Ukraine, the warships 'Nikopol', 'New Kapu' and 'Berdyansk' will be delivered at the agreed place on 18 November, the statement said.
Russian warships seized and detained 3 Ukrainian Navy vessels for violating territorial waters near the Kerch Strait in the Black Sea at the end of November of last year.
The International Tribunal for the law of the Sea had ruled last May that 3 Ukrainian warships seized by Russia and 24 crew members were to be released.
The exchange of prisoners and detainees between Russia and Ukraine, including 24 Ukrainian sailors arrested after the Kerch Strait crisis, was held on September.
