Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- Ukraine responded to allegations that "the Russian military delivered troops near the Ukrainian borders under the pretext of military exercises," the Kremlin said in a statement.
Kremlin spokesman Dimitri Peskov said in a statement that Russia is moving its armed forces within its territory against its will, which poses no threat to anyone.
"Russia is taking the necessary measures to ensure the security of its own borders. You know that NATO, other troops, and the armed forces of some countries have increased their activities along Russia's borders. All this forces us to be vigilant," he said.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said attempts to start a new military conflict in Ukraine's war-torn eastern region could destroy Kyiv.
Tass news agency quoted Lavrov as arguing that "Ukraine's attempts to start a military conflict in Donbass could destroy them."
