Serhat TUNAR -TDO- The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has announced that Russia should not participate in international sports organizations for 4 years on the grounds that it has been implicated in a doping scandal many times before.
If WADA's proposal is adopted, Russian athletes will not be able to compete on behalf of their country at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, which will be held about 8 months later.
WADA also announced that it would make the final decision on the matter after a meeting in the French capital, Paris, on December 9. It has been circulated from generation to generation that the committee is highly likely to report that Russia will not participate in the Olympics. The WADA committee, chaired by British lawyer Jonathan Taylor, said Russia had for many years deliberately administered doping to its athletes and manipulated the results of doping tests to come back negative.
Any decision WADA makes against Russia could be appealed at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
