RESTRICTIONS IMPOSED ON THE ADMINISTRATORS OF THE HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANIZATION IN SYRIA...
It has been found out that a ban has been imposed on the administrators of the human rights organization which are involved in the opposition activities.
Within the framework of the ban, it has been noted that a group including the chairman of the Syrian Human Rights Organization Muhannad El Hasani, member of the Board of Directors of the Syrian Human Rights Organization Hasan Mişo, Director of the Center for the Human Rights Legal Research Halil Matouk, the Lawyer Redif Mustafa and the Lawyer Mustafa Oso were not allowed to leave Syria to attend a meeting to be held in Cairo. The prevention of those people from traveling abroad to attend the meetings to be organized by the “Human Rights Studies Cairo Center” from 01 to 03 November 2007 in Cairo under the auspices of International Human Rights Federation” without any court decision has been condemned by a variety of human rights organizations in Syria. In the statement issued by the Syrian Human Rights Organization, Kurdish Human Rights Committee, Kurdish Organization for the Advocacy of the Human Rights and General Freedoms, Organization for the Syrian Human Rights Observers and the Center for the Human Rights Legal Research regarding the developments it is stated that “the ban on travel abroad is a breach of the orders of the Syrian Constitution” and demanded the mentioned developments be terminated.
