Selin ATAY-TDO- British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said he has faith that a deal with the European Union (EU) will take place in the coming weeks.

Boris Johnson will have a working lunch in Luxembourg with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and the EU’s chief Brexit negotiator, Michel Barnier, to discuss a way out of the Brexit logjam.The working lunch which will be first face-to-face meeting with top European Union officials signs emerge of a potential breakthrough in the Brexit impasse.

In his assessment of the Bretix process to a newspaper, Johnson reiterated that he was trying to secure Britain's exit from the EU on October 31.Boris Johnson, who also said no-deal Brexit was never the outcome he wanted, stated preparations for a no-deal Brexit had been “very thorough.”

“If we can make enough progress in the next few days, I intend to go to that crucial summit on Oct 17, and finalize an agreement that will protect the interests of business and citizens on both sides of the Channel, and on both sides of the border in Ireland” said British Prime Minister.
