Serhat TUNAR -TDO- In a message posted on social media, the United States Department of state criticized human rights abuses in China against Uighur Turks and the people of Hong Kong.
The video shared via the ministry's official social media account said there were reports that Uighurs were being held in camps and tortured there. The exchange also recalled calls made by 23 countries at the United Nations and said China should respect human rights.
"The Chinese government is violating the most basic human rights of the great and Noble Chinese people, its citizens," Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on October 30th.
The United States Department of State has stated that they want the fundamental rights of the Chinese people to be protected under the Chinese Constitution.
Last Wednesday, 23 United Nations member states called on China to respect human rights because of its policies towards the Muslim Uighur minority in EastTurkestan.
