According to preliminary investigations, 15 people who did not comply with the curfew imposed due to coronavirus were killed by police, Kenyan media sources said.
The country's police tortured 31 civilians, Makori said, adding that they had received 81 complaints against the police since March. Makori also said a team had been set up to investigate the incidents and necessary work had been initiated.
A curfew had been declared between 19.00 and 05.00 hours across the country in a bid to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
