Serhat TUNAR -TDO- Paris Municipality will prohibit smoking in 52 parks and gardens from 8 June. Prohibited parks and gardens account for 10 percent of the city's green foreheads. In the past year, six parks in Paris were tested for smoking ban.
According to the statement made by the Municipality of Paris for the31 May World Non-Smoking Day, the number of parks and gardens that have been prohibited in Paris has been increased to 52 with the new decisions implemented.
During June, municipal officials will only warn smokers in these 52 parks. As of July, those who do not comply with this ban, will be given a fine of 38 euro. In Paris, it is also prohibited to smoke in children's playgrounds in parks.
