İlknur Şebnem Öztemel-TDO-09.06.2017- According to The South Korean sources, North Korea launched several land-to-ship missiles in the early hours of Thursday.
An officer from the South Korean Office of Joint Chiefs of Staff said, "North Korea fired multiple projectiles that appear to be short-range land-to-ship cruise missiles today morning off the east coast from the region of Wonsan". American officers continue to investigate the missiles.
The missile was launched from Wonsan which is located 146 km east of Pyongyang and landed to Japan Sea.
Japan Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida said Thursday's missile launch had no immediate effect on its national security.
A spokesperson from Chinese Foreign Ministry called all parties to exercise restraint following the missiles launch.
It is the fourth North Korean missile launch since South Korean President Moon Jae-in took office on 10 May. Moon won the election as he promises to work with Pyongyang to ease tensions.
