Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- The Nigerian government has announced a ban on foreigners in Turkey, India, and Brazil from entering the country in the past two weeks due to the increasing number of cases of the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19).
A statement on the travel restriction said the ban did not apply to transit passengers.
Authorities cited concerns about the variants of Covid-19 and heavy passenger traffic between Nigeria and the three countries.
Nigerian citizens who are exempt from the ban and those who have a residence permit in the country must remain in quarantine for a week at a state-supervised center upon arrival in Nigeria if they have been in Turkey, Brazil, or India within the last 2 weeks.
Passengers are also expected to certify that they are not carrying Kovid-19 with a Covid-19 test conducted up to 72 hours before their trip.
