Seven people, including one child, were killed in New York City, which was hit by storms and flooding, the New York Police Department said.
Passaic Mayor Hector Lora said one person was killed when his vehicle was flooded in the rain-affected city of Passaic.
The New York City Transportation Authority said all services were suspended because subway stations were flooded.
