Serhat TUNAR -TDO- The task of forming a new government in Lebanon was given by President Michel Aoun to the country's Ambassador to Berlin, Mustapha Adib. Michel Aoun announced that Adib, who received approval in a parliamentary vote, is the new prime minister of Lebanon.
President Aoun summoned Mustapha Adib to the Baabda Presidential Palace and tasked him with forming the new government.
Before the vote in parliament, former prime ministers Fuad Signora, Temam Salam, Najib Mikati and Saad Hariri met in the capital Beirut as part of efforts to form a new government.
A joint written statement prepared at the meeting was read by Fuad Signora and stated that they agreed that Mustapha Adib should take on the task of forming a government.
