Serhat TUNAR -TDO- Russian President Vladimir Putin, who approved the cabinet presented by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, signed the decree designating Russia's new government.

Russian state agency Tass reported that Andrey Belousov, Dmitry Grigorenko, Yuri Trutnev, Victoria Abramchenko, Yuri Borisov, Tatyana Golikova, Aleksey Overçuk, Marat Khusnullin and Dmitry Chernishenko were appointed as deputy prime ministers, according to the decree signed by Putin. The previous government will have 10 deputy prime ministers, while the new government will have 9 deputies.

It was announced that Grigorenko would also serve as the government's secretary-general.

Vladimir Kolokoltse will serve as Interior Minister, Sergey Lavrov as Foreign Minister, Sergey Shoygu as Defense Minister, Aleksandr Novak as Energy Minister, and Anton Siluanov as Finance Minister, according to Russian news agency RIA Novosti.

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said demography, income growth and improving living standards were key issues Cabinet members would work on.

Last week, Putin proposed former Federal Tax Agency chief Mikhail Mishustin to replace Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, who resigned. In a parliamentary vote, Mishustin was elected the new prime minister of the government.
