Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- The United States Treasury Department has announced that President Joe Biden's government has paid more than 156 million citizens as part of its new coronavirus (Covid-19) assistance plan.
Among those paid are 25 million people who have not filed tax returns in 2019 and 2020 and are living on Social Security benefits.
The aid paid directly at $1,400 per person, was the main promise of Biden's $1.9 trillion packages to contain the pandemic and boost the U.S. economy.
In this context, approximately $372 billion has been paid since March 12.
Aid is reviving the U.S. economy in a variety of ways, according to the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.
Thanks to the benefits, that amount increased hiring last month because the American people have more money to spend.
