News Centre-TDO- South African Embassy organized the Nelson Mandela Football Day on September 14, 2019 at the Ankara Cınar Carpet Field to support the Ankara Refugee Lunch Support Group (ARLSG).
Turkey, Great Britain, Germany, World Health Organization, Latin America, Ankara Military Attaché Association, Embassy of Italy, Embassy of Zambia, Embassy of Japan, Embassy of South Africa, Embassy of Democratic Republic of Congo and Embassy of Tanzania participated to the tournament hosted by South Africa's Ambassador to Turkey Pule Isaac Malefane.
The Turkish Team won the tournament and the team of World Health Organization took the second place.
The aim of the tournament was to raise funds for the Ankara Refugee Luncheon Support Group (ARLSG), a voluntary organization that hosted a football competition, as part of Mandela's vision and aspirations to protect a healthy and nurturing humanity.
The main pioneer and coordinator of the event was Mert Gür from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
