Serhat TUNAR -TDO- Nearly 200 airlines across Europe are on the verge of bankruptcy due to a Coronavirus outbreak.
In a report published by the European desk of the International Airports Council, 193 airlines on the continent are at risk of bankruptcy if passenger traffic does not increase by the end of the year. The report said regional airlines, which mainly operate domestic flights, were the most affected by the crisis.
These airlines, which had an annual turnover of 12.4 billion euros before the Coronavirus outbreak, provide employment for a total of 277 thousand people.
In addition, the Airports Council International said that major airports in Europe are also facing a financial crisis.
