Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- The Belarusian government has blocked access to an opposition online news site and detained some journalists.
The news site "Nasha Niva" has been banned from accessing it at home and in Europe.
Minsk's government said the ban was imposed by prosecutors on the grounds that it "published illegal information."
"Nasha Niva," said in a statement that some journalists on the editorial board, including the editor-in-chief, could not be reached.
"We are unable to contact some members of the editorial board, including Editor-in-Chief Ehor Martsinovich. Some of our readers have reported that the police have arrived at Martsinovich's residence. We presume he is in custody," the statement said.
Meanwhile, the Belarusian Journalists Association said it had again been banned from accessing the independent news site "orsha.eu" and that its director had been arrested by police.
