Aslıhan DOĞRU -TDO- In Myanmar, after the detention of Myo Nyunt, spokesman for the ruling party National League for Democracy (NLD), Detention of State Council President and Foreign Minister Aung San Suu Chii and other party executives, the military seized the country's leadership.
Myanmar military says coup claims confirmed after morning detentions and stated that the country's administration is now in the hands of Chief of Staff Min Aung Hlaing.
The statement said the coup was carried out amid allegations of the rig in the November 8th, 2020 elections.
Announcing a state of emergency in the country after the coup, the military said Myanmar would be governed by military administration for a year.
Meanwhile, United States (U.S.) White House Spokeswoman Jen Psaki expressed concern about the incident, "The United States is concerned about the steps taken by the Myanmar military to undervote on the democratic transition process in the country, including detaining State Council President and Foreign Minister Aung San Suu Chii and other civilian officials," he said.
