İlknur Şebnem Öztemel-TDO-Thousands of people have fled clashes between the Myanmar military and ethnic rebels along the border with China, in the presidential term of Aung San Suu Kyi whose top goal was to reach peace with minorities.

Also, Saw Myint, an official from the Maynmar Red Cross, 300 people were waiting to be transferred to a camp for internally displaced people in the town of Chinshwehaw near Laukkai.

30 people were died in the attack conducted by ethnic Chinese Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA), in Laukkai where is 800 km northeast of commercial hub Yangon, in Monday. After the event, thousands seek to refuge across the border in camps in China.

China called for an immediate ceasefire between the two sides, urging them to resolve their problems peacefully.

The unfortunate event compared the scenes to those in 2015 when tens of thousands escaped fighting between the army and the predominantly ethnic MNDAA which is part of the Northern Alliance, a coalition of rebel groups comprising one of Myanmar's most powerful militias, the Kachin Independence Army, and two smaller groups that have been in a stand-off with Myanmar's military since clashes in Kokang two years ago.

Various minorities in Myanmar- Rohingyas, living in Rakhine state in south-west and Chinese minorities in north east, struggling with government forces. In the term of Aung San Suu Kyi’s whose is also a Nobel Peace Prize winner, there is no hint for quick and a permanent solution about these issues.
