20/07/2020

Serhat TUNAR -TDO- Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said that Europe cannot be divided in the face of the economic bottleneck it is in, and that the European Union summit must find a way out to overcome the problem.

As it is known, European Union leaders failed to reach an agreement during two days of negotiations on the rescue programme and future budget prepared to combat the economic consequences of the Coronavirus outbreak, and the summit programme was extended by one day.

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis  said: “I have pointed out from the beginning that we all need to reach a compromise, but these concessions cannot undermine our ambitions for Europe's bold response to the coronavirus crisis and the economic downturn it caused. We are facing an unprecedented financial crisis and we have no case of looking divided or weakened.”
