Serhat TUNAR -TDO- The summit next week with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the migrant crisis will be held via teleconference, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has claimed.
Reuters news agency, citing a Turkish official, said the decision was taken because of the measure for the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.
Meanwhile, as part of measures against coronavirus, President Erdogan has postponed all his abroad programs.
Earlier, Erdogan, Merkel, Macron and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will hold a summit in Istanbul on the migrant issue on March 17.
German government spokesman Steffen Seibert, pointing to the Coronavirus outbreak, said the meeting was planned.
Tuesday Thursday, President Erdogan will hold a summit meeting with German Chancellor Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron in Istanbul, Presidential Spokesman Ibrahim Kalin said.
