Serhat TUNAR -TDO- German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the rules introduced to prevent the spread of coronavirus were largely followed, and thanked the public for that.
Addressing the agenda in her weekly speech, Angela Merkel said: "I want to thank you today when I see how almost all of the public have changed their attitudes, how the vast majority of you have avoided unnecessary contact because you are at risk of infection. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart."
The number of Covid-19 cases identified in Germany was 50 thousand. The number of people who died from the virus also exceeded 320.
Quarantine is continuing throughout Germany. Schools, shopping malls, restaurants, playgrounds and sports facilities remain closed. In addition, many companies stopped production to prevent the spread of the virus.
The German government also agreed to a 750 billion-euro economic stimulus package to stem the economic hardship caused by the cessation of production. It also announced that it would provide unlimited credit assistance to companies, as well as debt deferral to those unable to pay their instalments under certain conditions.
