Serhat TUNAR –TDO- Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro announced that his country ended diplomatic relations with the United States, after US President Donald Trump announced that he recognized Venezuelan National Assembly President Juan Guaido as the country's 'interim president'.
Maduro, who made a statement on the subject, announced that they decided to end diplomatic relations with the United States and gave the US diplomats in Venezuela 72 hours to leave the country.
Maduro also urged the Venezuelan army to maintain unity and discipline.
Following the announcement of the US recognizing Juan Guadio as president, countries like Canada, Paraguay, Brazil, Peru, Chile, Colombia and Guatemala have announced that they will recognize the Guaido government.
In the past weeks, Maduro was sworn in. The head of the National Assembly and the leader of the opposition, Juan Guaido, proclaimed himself as provisional president, stating that the government of Nicolas Maduro was illegitimate.
