Selin ATAY-TDO- French President Emmanuel Macron said that the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has failed to provide useful solutions to the problems it faces as before. Macron argued that organizations of international cooperation should be “modernized.”
Emmanuel Macron told reporters that multilateral co-operation frameworks were undermined because they were blocked.
"I have to say that the UNSC can no longer produce useful solutions. For example, given the fact that we are prisoners of the multilateral crisis we are experiencing at the World Health Organization (WHO), we are all responsible for this,” Emmanuel Macron said.
"In the light of these developments, it is necessary to strengthen and develop a political Europe, to establish the desired cooperation, to structure balanced poles and to develop a dialogue around a new multilateralism, that is, to decide together between different forces. We must succeed in rediscovering useful forms of cooperation, project coalitions, actors, and succeed in modernizing structures and rebalancing those relationships." Macron said in his statement on the recent crises taking place in international structures.
“The only way to get rid of the return of regional adversarial forces, the influence of the United States and China, is to ensure a strong Europe by accepting our values,” Emmanuel Macron said, referring to the influence of the United States and China.
In recent months, US President Donald Trump has blamed the World Health Organization for over-tolerating China. Donald Trump also instructed the Washington administration to begin the process necessary to exit the WHO. On the other hand, because of differences in opinion with the United States, the elections in the World Trade Organization's management structure did not take place as needed.
In a speech to the UN General Assembly last year, French President Macron said the international community should stop watching only the war between the United States and China as spectators.
