Serhat TUNAR -TDO- French President Emmanuel Macron, who has been the target of fierce protests over his remarks in recent days, has seen his popularity within the country rise by 8 percentage points in November, according to a poll conducted by the public opinion research company IFOP.

IFOP Deputy Director-General Frédéric Dabi said the number of people supporting Macron, who decided to reintroduce restrictions after the beheading of a high school teacher and the increase in the Coronavirus outbreak along with terrorist attacks on a church, had increased.

According to the survey, the proportion of those who think Macron is defending France's interests abroad well was 56 and the proportion who think he follows good economic policy was 41.
